It's not just about growing food. It's about transforming a fundamentally broken and wasteful monoculture system that requires expensive maintenance, toxic chemicals, depletes the soil, and wastes water often increasing your bills; into something that generates a yield, creates healthy soils, builds community through the act of sharing food, and increases biodiversity.
We will work with you to understand your goals and preferences, assess your space and soil conditions, and recommend the best plants and layout for your edible garden

Services
Edible Garden
We offer permaculture design to help you create a more sustainable and productive landscape. Permaculture is an approach that works with nature to design spaces that support healthy ecosystems, promote biodiversity, and provide food. Whether you want to enhance your garden or start a new project, we’re here to help you develop practical solutions that fit your needs and environment.
Consultation
As a standalone service, our consultation service is designed to help clients get started with their edible garden project by providing expert advice and recommendations that will close loop and create a truly self-sustainable garden.
The consultation process typically begins with a questionnaire that provides us with information about your goals, the current state of your property, and your preferences. We then conduct a quick research on the property, considering factors such as soil type, climate, sun exposure, and water resources.
With this information in hand, we visit your property to discuss possible sustainable design options. This can include a review of plant lists, system placements such as irrigation and composting, and best pest management practices. During the consultation, we will also answer any questions you may have and provide you with resources to help you get started.
At the end of the consultation, you will receive a detailed report outlining the recommendations made during the consultation, along with any relevant resources or materials. This report will serve as a valuable reference as you move forward with your edible garden project.
Design
After the consultation, we begin the design process. We take a holistic approach to our design by incorporating sustainable principles to create thriving edible gardens. We work closely with you to ensure that the design reflects your unique preferences, needs, and vision for your garden.
During the design phase, we take into consideration all the elements that were discussed during the consultation. For example, if you expressed interest in having a water catchment system, compost, bees, or specific edible or ornamental plants, we will incorporate these features into the design. In addition, we will provide you with a detailed plant list, as well as an estimated cost for the installation.
We understand that budget is an important consideration, and we work closely with you to ensure that the project stays within your budget while still meeting your goals and expectations. In most cases, we present you with a couple of similar designs with different pricing to give you more options. People often have unrealized resources in their backyards that can be used to create a more affordable garden. For example, you can find pictures above where a client chose to use felled logs as bed edges saving him money by not having to pay to haul off valuable resources (wood) and using them to replace expensive lumber material. While this is not for everyone, it is within the realm of possibilities of what we do here at Regenerative Gardens.
We will also provide you with detailed design plans and sketches, so you can visualize what the final product will look like. We encourage feedback and input from our clients throughout the design process, to ensure that the end result is a garden that you will love and enjoy for years to come.
Installation
The installation phase involves bringing your customized garden design to life. We will carefully and skillfully implement all the elements of the design plan, including garden beds, irrigation systems, hardscaping features, and plantings.
We use high-quality materials and take great care to ensure that every detail of the installation is done correctly. We can work closely with you throughout the installation process to ensure that you are satisfied with the progress and that everything is being done to your specifications.
During the installation phase, we also take into consideration any site-specific challenges, such as soil conditions, drainage issues, or local climate factors. We have enough experience to overcome any obstacle and ensure that your garden is successful and thriving.
Once the installation is complete, we will provide you with guidance on how to properly care for and maintain your new garden. Our team will also remain available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your garden, even after the installation is complete.
Price for installation will be project-specific and quoted directly to the client.
Maintenance
Maintaining your landscape (or foodscape/garden) can become costly when all your inputs (fertilization, compost, water, seeds, and mulch) come from outside sources. Here at Regenerative Gardens, we are all about closing loops, which means we create systems to gather valuable garden resources from within the garden itself. Fertilizers can be made by fermenting weeds (fertilizer tea), tree limbs (biochar), or grass clippings; mulch can come from deciduous leaves, cardboard boxes, or acquired for free from local arborists; compost can be made with kitchen scraps and garden outputs, seeds can be collected from your own plants, and water can be caught with your roof - We understand that this is not practical in every situation but our maintenance services are based on self-sustainable methods and will always use local resources when available.
When we maintain your garden we not only perform tasks like prepping, seeding, planting, pruning, training, weeding, mulching, and fertilizing but we do it sustainably by closing loops and using the resources in your own backyard. This saves you money and avoids using synthetic materials (such as toxic fertilizers or herbicides) that are often harvested and created in detrimental ways.
When it comes to pests, we know that a healthy ecosystem is better able to resist pests and diseases, so we prioritize maintaining healthy soil and diversity in your garden. This is done by adding compost to the soil, mulching, and increasing biodiversity by incorporating native plant communities thus attracting pollinators and birds. We also encourage beneficial insects, like ladybugs and predatory wasps, that can help control pests naturally.
When pests or diseases do appear, we use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods, which follow the following procedures:
-
Appropriate cultural practices
-
Mechanical methods
-
Biological methods
-
Natural and synthetic chemical methods
Our maintenance services are tailored for front yards or back yards sized gardens and foodscapes.
